Update from the Nurse Practitioner Council, August 2010
The Nurse Practitioner Council (NPC) meets every three months to discuss and advocate on issues that Nurse Practitioners are experiencing on a national level.
New NP Role: Pam ColleyTitle
Pam Colley describes her new role in an Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) clinic working with a
cardiologist, a pharmacist, a nurse educator, pharmacist and an electrophysiologist (EP).
New NP Role: Carole Galte
Carole Galte describes her new roles in an in-patient cardiology unit, an outpatient heart function clinic; outpatient atrial fibrillation clinic, and most recently a combined cardiology clinic (focus on AF and HF).
Effective Communication Committee
The Effective Communication Committee (ECC) has grown in membership this year and actively meets on a monthly basis exclusively via teleconference. This allows BCNPA members throughout the province to participate.

Education Committee Report
The BCNPA Education Committee consists of eight members -Ellen Ayer, Leah Christoff, Anita Dotts, Belinda Furlan, Carol Galte, Deborah Lewis, Nola Wurtele, and Patti Choy. This outlines the goals and activities of the Education Committee for the upcoming year 2010-2011.
